A Question of Perspective

Holy Crap, I Ran for 21.5 Minutes!

So today I strapped on my handy-dandy new little iPod Shuffle (potentially to be named R2D2 or Sylvia – got an opinion?) and headed out behind the house to have a little run.

The cycle was the same as week 4 day 1:

  • Walk 5 min
  • Run 3 min
  • Walk 90 seconds
  • Run 5 min
  • Walk 2min 30 seconds
  • Run 3 min
  • Walk 90 seconds
  • Run 5 min
  • Walk 5 min

However, fair readers, that is so not what happened. For the first time, when the nice man in my ear said to walk, I wanted to keep going. So I did. I ran the whole thing.

21.5 minutes!

There’s a good chance that I could have walked the same distance faster, and I was sweating and panting by the end of it, but holy shit I ran for 21.5 minutes!

One more time. 21.5 minutes!

I understand that this is not a big deal for you runners out there, but seriously, when I moved out here, walking up the stairs had me winded… I blamed it on the altitude.

No more! 21.5 minutes! Woot!

  • Thanks buddy! :D
