<description>I have three stories for you:

a) i evaded running the mile every year that I was in middle school–it was eight or ten leaps around the recess field, I forget how many. One year, I distinctly remember going to the nurse with a scraped knee, and the glory of having secured another consecutive year with no “mile”

b) day one sucks. if you run seven there is no day one. the savvy athlete in my would never recommend this because your muscles (and probably your mind) need a recovery day. BUT i have made it through dark and dreary months by avoiding day one all together. i would wait on implementing this till you enjoy it just a little–do you walk on the off days?

c) i have decided to learn how to race my bike. this bears very little resemblance to the commuting that i am used to. this means that i am a SUPER novice, and am adjusting to being a floundering athlete, and in comparison to my teammates am out of shape and technically inept. sweet.

d) runners high is out there….

that’s it.

hope that day 2 feels better.
