Twitter gives the wrong instructions. It tells you to answer the question “What are you doing?” which leads newbies to assume the Twitter community is just a bunch of navel-gazers telling each other mundane details about their daily lives. That’s not how great twitterers use the tool. They share interesting news, insights, and tips that are of widespread value, plus relevant links for learning more. Indeed, I use Twitter as a modern-day news wire service.
