And as Jenn will tell just about anyone who asks (and even sometimes when they don’t), I’ve got no problem with saying I don’t know – I called her in the wake of 9/11 to ask about the relationships between the attack, Nation of Islam and Palestine.  Yes, I should read the newspaper more.

This slightly embarrassing Q&A aside, I’m a generally perceptive person.

In the interest of full disclosure, and a slight blush for another moment of extreme ignorance, I have to admit: I had no idea that Gwen Bell is a BFD.

Just call me Captain Obvious.

Now, I knew she was friends with some of my friends.

I did her Best of 2009 Blog Challenge, which was a good kick in the pants.

I follow her on Twitter, and she’s clearly a smarty-pants.

And I’ve been actively working on stretching myself, making new friends, and seeking out the kinds of people that I truly want in my life, now that I’m settled here in CO. I’ve engaged Gwen a few times on Twitter and posted about how adorable she and her husband are (seriously, everyone should be this happy) – and thought she was a pretty fab (thusfar virtual) human.

But life’s been busy lately with work and travel and building a house, and I’ve been hitting Mark all as read in my Google Reader more often than I’d like to admit.

So I missed this and this.

Fortunately, I caught wind of this. So last night Cali and I headed down to Gwen’s Experience Life Zine Tour at Delight.com‘s warehouse.

And I must say – she’s a delight. She’s all smiles, smart as all get-out, engaging and funny. She’s the kind of person people want to know. If you’re in CO, head out to what’s left of the Zine Tour this week.

So, my quiet pack, add Gwen Bell to your stack of blogs you should be reading.
