When does home change from the place where you grew up to the place where you live now?
When I talk to folks about going back to Rhode Island, they ask me when I’m coming home.
But when I’m in Rhode Island, or Baltimore, or anywhere else, and I’m talking to Megan, or to myself in my head, I think, 3/2/1 days until I go home. To Colorado.
So which is it?
Anyway, I’m returning, with my lovely sidekick, to Rhode Island next week.
It’s a week filled with family and clients and vendors.
Jam-packed.
I’ll be working 4 of the 5 week days that I’m in RI, and the majority of those days are packed with visiting clients… post-launch lunches (nice site, huh?), coffee with some of my most favorite clients (they know who they are), and lunch with Robin (have you tried this iced tea yet? It’s delish…)
On Wednesday, Megan, Nana Dana and I will be making the rounds of the vendors for the wedding. Caterer, flowers, venue… and getting our marriage license. This is the reason Megan’s accompanying me back to RI… we have to apply for the license in person, within 60 days of the big day. Which is why we didn’t do it on our way out of town back in February. Then we release Nana Dana back to Grandpa Tom and Megan and I go for a lovely cocktail and to discuss photos with Miss Krista. And for the finale, a hair consult and dinner with my gay boyfriend. Oy!
- Sunday night, as I understand it, will involve some fun people and some cocktails at Nana Dana’s.
- Monday night, dinner with Woolverine and BFF and then visit with the DJ. In Attleboro (I’ve still got a little Rhode Islander in me. I might need to pack a snack for that trip…)
- Tuesday we play with friends of Megan’s.
- Wednesday: see above.
- Thursday might involve Penny.
- Friday is BBQ with my high school friends.
- And then back on the plane.
I’m going to need a week off when I get back home to Colorado to recover.
