Yes, you read correctly. How?  I call and complain.  And threaten to leave.  (And having fantastic credit doesn’t hurt.) Reducing your interest rates is #17 on Queercents‘ list of 30 ways to save $1 a day.

17. Call credit card companies to get a lower interest rate – calculate the saving for the lower interest rate based on what you owe, divide by 12 and put that amount away each month

It’s got some good info for queers (realistically, most of it works for breeders as well), and is witty to boot.  What’s better than that?  Lots of things, I’m sure, like how breathtaking the mountains are every time, but in the big picture, funny talk about money ranks above average.

  • You could also try not carrying a balance....which is my secret. My rate is like 24% or something insane like that, which encourages me not to spend money I don't have!
