A Question of Perspective

Thanksgiving Guests

in Generally Fantastic, Perspectives

BuntyErin McKeownI don’t care much for Thanksgiving. I don’t like turkey, and the other things that come along with it are just whatever.

I’d much prefer a plateful of latkes followed up with another full of fried green tomatoes over cranberry sauce and stuffing.

This year, we’re tossing the turkey (maybe takeout Chinese?) It’s my first Thanksgiving away from home and my family, and I’m happy to say that we’ll be joined by some fantastic friends… neither of whom I’ve seen in FAR too long.

Erin McKeown

She’s a rockstar. Like for realz. She’s got a gig at The Walnut Room with Jill Sobule on the night after Thanksgiving. Bonus!

Desdemona Burgin

AKA Bunty, my ex-girlfriend from more than 10 years ago, is Erin’s tour manager. (And a wicked awesome photographer.) Double bonus!

Friday at The Walnut Room

Since the gig is the day after Thanksgiving, they’re in the Denver area for a few days and we’ve got the great pleasure of having them as house guests. I’m so excited I could wet myself. I won’t though, don’t worry.

So, though I’ll miss my family, I’ll be thrilled to spend some time with two people I enjoy immensely and almost never get to see.

I’m thoroughly thankful.
