A Question of Perspective

Week 4 Stretching On…

So I think week 4 is going to take a couple of weeks. I’ve tried to do it 2x so far, and  have not successfully completed it. And my interpretation of the running schedule is that you have to successfully complete each day before you move on to the next.

The first day, Monday, was completely pathetic.  I couldn’t even get through the first 5 minute run… so I did 4 3min runs.

The second try, Wednesday, was a little better, I got through the first 3min, the first 5min, the second 3min and then lamed out on the last 5min after only 2 minutes.  I did break 2 miles in 30 minutes though (no snickering) for the first time, which was exciting, in a holy-shit-my-legs-fucking-hurt kind of way.

The interesting part of it is that I’ve got the wind now… it’s no longer the lack of oxygen that’s causing my distress… my legs are so out of shape they just don’t want to do it.  I do suppose that it will come with time…

Today, weather permitting (we’re getting 1-2 feet of snow here) I’ll try again.

  • You know, my week 4 took forEVER!
  • Dude, it does blow, but I swear to god I'm going to do it if it KILLS me...

Running blows. I am a total athlete and I quit all of the sports where sustained running is required because I just hate it...except 1x when I was running (just for the sake of running...go figure)and I got that runner's high thing that people talk about. That was cool. But beer is cheaper and takes less effort.

Hang in there, keep working it, you'll get there. (Thumbs up)
