When It All Comes Together
Friday, I attended YPI’s Come Out and Celebrate (nice website, right?). I’m a former YPI-er in a multitude of roles over the years… participant, intern, staff, board member, volunteer… so this is one I try to make it to.
It was fun, the food was good, I got to see lots of folks I’ve not seen in a while (completely my own fault, since I SUCK at social obligations, or even niceties, lately.)
I re-met, for the umpteenth time, Kim Ahern. Only I didn’t know it at the time.
I’ve met her before, at functions and the like.
I hear her name a lot.
Like, from Lauren, “Are you sure you haven’t met Kim Ahern?’
Or, also from Lauren, “Kim Ahern is fabulous, blah, blah, blah…”
Lauren’s response to my query of who else was a Rhode Island delegate in Denver this year, “This one, that one, the next one, Kim Ahern.”
She’s everywhere, I just didn’t know it. It seems she is one of the Phoneix’s 30 on 30, which popped up in my reader courtesy of Providence Daily Dose.
And now, per her invite, we are Facebook friends.
That’s what tied it all together for me. I needed the Facebook pic to put the person whose hand I shook Friday night together with all of the, “Who’s Kim Ahern?” queries of late.
Hooray for the light bulb.
